Cover Reveal: Because of Ellison by M.S. Willis

Displaying because of ellison cover blog size.jpg

Blurb

When I was nineteen years old, I lived for sex, drugs and a good party. I had it all - good looks, a fast car and a hot girlfriend. Nothing in life was more important.

That was, until I met Ellison James….

Since the moment I first saw her she was a raging bull; tackling me in the mud and throwing out insults as fast as her tongue could form the sound.

She was snarky
She was rude
And she pissed me off like no other woman could.

I lived beside her for a summer and in the three months that I walked by her side...

She opened my eyes
She changed my life
And she made me a better man

Excerpt

I approached Ellison and we stood nose to nose and chest to chest because I’d walked up so close. She craned her neck to look up at me and I raised my hands to smooth down her arms. But I couldn’t touch her. I held my hands at her shoulders and I looked down at her longingly, but I just couldn’t push past the thin, invisible force that seemed to surround her. I didn’t want to be like Finn. I didn’t want to push myself on her when she was already upset about something else. It wasn’t fair to her. The energy from her body brushed across my palms and I felt twisted up inside because I couldn’t actually touch her.

She blinked slowly and the blue was shining in contrast with her red-rimmed eyes. I could smell the beer on her and she swayed slightly. “Please don’t, Hunter. Please don’t make this harder.” Her voice was a breathy whisper and I closed my eyes in reaction to it. I wanted to do more than touch her. I wanted to sweep her up in my arms and cradle her to me. I wanted to hold her until all the pain and worry left her body. I wanted to tell her I’d take care of her, I’d cherish her, I’d…that, in reality, I’d end up leaving her.

I’d never felt pain before like I did at that moment. It tore at me. Physical pain shot through my body and my chest tightened. But I pulled my hands back to myself. I protected her heart by not touching her.

For once, I was trying not to be the selfish bastard I knew I was.

Wake Up Call by Victoria Ashley

Displaying wake up call new 2.jpg

My heart stopped and suddenly it was hard to breathe. His voice always had that effect on me. It was like poison slowly running through my veins killing me bit by bit. Like a drug that I couldn't get enough of even though I was almost down to my last breath.
Jace took a step forward and grabbed my hand. He slowly trailed his fingers over my face and backed me into the wall. My heart stopped again if that was even possible. "You can't leave," he whispered. "I need you." His warm breath kissed my lips as he bit his bottom lip and placed both of his hands around my face. They were warm and soft to the touch. Too big for my fragile face, although I wanted to bury myself in them. "Breathe. There is no one here but the two of us. Breathe," he whispered.

Avery Hale had spent her whole childhood abused by her drunken, hopped-up parents. Broken from a lifetime of hate and pain she grew up realizing that trust and love just didn't exist. Not in her world at least.
After turning the age of eighteen, she packed up and moved far away determined to escape her hurtful past and start a new life. Once on her own she comes to the conclusion that the emptiness still exist. Doing what she had to to survive she found herself mixed up in exotic dancing and meaningless sexual relationships unable to feel anything, for anyone. She was sure that her life was worthless and there was nothing left for her. Or, she thought.
After meeting a beautiful stranger, jace, her life suddenly is turned upside down. Everything that she truly believed suddenly gets questioned and then she is left to figure out if there is really more to her than she could ever have imagined. Jace, having some secrets of his own puts the pain of his own past behind to do what he can to help Avery. Can the love of another broken person be enough to help Avery, or is she already too far gone?
Avery's life is pulled in many directions as she tries to find herself, and not everyone and thing is what they seem to be in this story of love, trust and opening up. Finding herself and learning to love herself might just be the hardest thing she's ever had to do.

Wanting to know how to help her, I finally got up the nerve to speak again. “Everything okay, Half-Pint?” I questioned. Then, without thinking, I reached over and took her hand in mine. Her fingers fit between mine as if they were made to. My gaze fell to our hands and my heart skipped a beat in my chest when I realized that I liked how her skin felt on mine. I looked at her as she too stared at our entwined hands and bit down on her lower lip. I knew she felt it too. Silent moments passed before her blue eyes met mine again.
“No, everything’s not okay.” She pulled her hand from mine hastily while taking a deep breath. “But it will be.” She stood and tripped over one of the kids’ toys. I stifled my laughter and her face flushed again. I couldn’t help but smile in spite of myself knowing that she felt uneasy around me. “I think I’ll head to bed now. Thanks for the beers, Tyler.”

Excerpt

“Lucky!”

Luciana whipped her head toward the familiar voices of Alex and Nina. She smiled wide when she spotted the two women, past the masses of travelers by the luggage pickup, heading in her direction.

She rushed forward and enveloped both in a group hug. “I missed you so much!”

“We missed you too, prima!” Alex’s soft voice whispered in her ear.

She pulled back. Both women wore fun, colorful outfits and sandals. Like her, they were on the curvaceous side, voluptuous, with full bodies, as her mom liked to say. All three also had long dark hair and the cinnamon-toned skin that came from their Latin heritage. Only Lucky had the blue-black hair. She was also a few years younger than Alex and older than Nina. It made her the cream in their cookie sandwich.

Fascinated with how dazzling both women looked, she gaped openly at them. If they radiated any more happiness, she’d need sunglasses. Alex glowed with her pregnancy. Meanwhile, Nina’s eyes danced, filled with joy. Her heart ached that she’d been missing out on the comings and goings of her best friends.

“You look about ready to burst with joy—especially you, Alex.” She grinned.

Nina laughed. “Not so much what we’re doing, but what is being done to us.” She winked. “Tu sabes.”

Yeah, she knew, all right. Those sparkling dark eyes of theirs told enough of the story for her not to wonder. And if what she’d heard about Alex’s husband and Nina’s fiancé was true, they were both getting done quite well. Sadly, Lucky had been very unlucky in that side of her life. Her last relationship had gone down the drain when she’d mentioned family and babies to her ex. Her chest hurt whenever she remembered the way things had ended. Shit had hit the fan in the worst possible moment. Shaking her mind out of the pity party it tended to head to, she smiled at the women.

“Come on, chicas. Let’s get out of here so you can both fill me in on the wedding and what I’m supposed to do to make sure it goes off without a hitch.” She tugged on the plastic handle of her suitcase and headed for the exit, zigzagging her way around the bodies rushing to enter the terminal.

Sweat formed and dripped down her spine the moment they hit the outdoors. Having come from Florida and the warm beach weather, it was odd to have a higher temperature meet her in New York.

Nina winced. “I know. This weather sucks.” She slipped on her sunglasses. “I should have just picked a date in the winter to get married, but I really didn’t want to wait that long.”

Alex rolled her eyes and pointed to her protruding baby bump, covered by her pretty purple tank top. “You should have. I would have loved to fit into a regular dress instead of a muumuu.”

“Honey, you’re going to look gorgeous in your dress.” Nina grinned.

“Gorgeous?” Alex lifted her brows high, disbelief written all over her flushed face. “I’ll look like the sun—one big yellow sphere.”

Lucky choked on a giggle. “Alex!”

“It’s true.” She pouted. “I don’t care what you say. I look terrible in all that yellow. Big and yellow. Lovely combination.”

“It’s gold, Alex.” Nina’s voice sounded tired. As if they’d had that conversation multiple times before.

“Gold, yellow, does it matter?” Alex frowned, as she pulled a bottle of water from her handbag and sipped.

“But Alex, you can—”

“Stop telling me I can wear it again.” She groaned. “I don’t think I want to look like the sun in the future.”

Lucky grinned. It was nice to be back with family. She was already enjoying the silly banter between her cousins. They made their way to Nina’s navy-blue sedan. She followed behind Nina and Alex. “So, when do I get to meet the groom?”

Belts snapped into place as Nina started the car. “Tomorrow night. We’re having a private party at Come Again. You already met Andrew at Alex’s wedding. This time you’ll meet my honey, Maxwell, and his best friend, JT—who’s also his best man.”

The car took off suddenly, causing Lucky to jerk in her seat. She bit back the usual “slow-down” retort she used on her sister. It wasn’t that Nina was a bad driver. Lucky just didn’t like speed. Or cars.

“Tonight is just us girls.” Nina cheered.

“Ugh…I hate to be the party pooper here, but I am just not up for late nights anymore,” Alex whined. She lifted her long hair into a bun and used a clip to hold it in place.

“Aw. Poor baby.” Nina cooed. “Don’t worry, hon. You are excused and may go home to rest those swollen little feet.”

Lucky sat back and retrieved a notebook. Time to take down notes on her plans for the wedding.

“Oh, Luckyyy.”

She met Nina’s smiling gaze in the rear view mirror.

“Tonight is going to be a super special surprise. I’m taking you somewhere awesome.”

“A club?” She wasn’t sure she was up to the clubbing scene just yet.

“Nope. A private event. And that’s all I’m going to tell you.”

Lucky opened her mouth to ask further questions, but Alex cut her off. “Don’t even bother asking anything, chica. She’s already said it’s a surprise. She’s obsessed with those things.”

“Hey! I will have you know, you all love my surprises.” She clicked on the radio. The sounds of their favorite ’80s salsa songs filled the car, and they all started singing along, completely out of tune. She amended her previous thought. It wasn’t just nice to be back with her family. It was awesome.

Hi! I'm Milly (AKA April Angel) I love to write sexy stories. They're usually either paranormal or contemporary with a large dose of heat. My paranormal stories can be anything from wolf-shifters (my favorites) to witches, demons and anything in between. My contemporaries are usually anything from soldiers to corporate romances.
I was born the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, I live in New York City with my hubby, the bossy kiddo and our little dog "Needy Speedy". Don't ask.
When I'm not working some really long hours at the day job, or hanging out in the awful life-sucking invention known as Facebook, messaging my bestie in the UK or shopping with my sis Julie, then I can be found watching scary movies. Buuut when I'm not doing that, I'm usually writing because the voices won't shut up.
I am addicted to shoe shopping, chocolate (but who isn't, right?) and Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
Come on over and visit me! I love to meet new readers!

April Angel Spotlight and Giveaway: Wicked Valentine

Wicked Valentine (Sizzling Encounters Book 2)

Blurb

Who knew being wicked could be this fun?

Maxwell Stone has wanted Sabrina for over a year. But Nina’s the ultimate professional and has no intention of getting involved. That is, until the night she gets a little tipsy and finds herself begging for his touch.

After an intense night of making Nina’s sexual fantasies come true, Max finds he doesn’t want to let her go. Nina wants Maxwell too, but she won’t put her job on the line for any man. She loves the passion they shared, but when she’s invited to the Wicked Valentine Ball, she decides it’s time to put Max out of her mind. Of course, the last thing she expects is for him to be her escort. And she doesn’t expect to find someone else trying to keep them apart. Permanently…

Excerpt:

Chapter One

What in the hell was wrong with this picture? She was at a retreat, or what she liked to think of as a stupid idea someone with too much time had come up with to push her and her coworkers into learning to communicate better, get a feel for what each employee wanted to get out of the job, and figure out a way to provide better service…and some other crap she couldn’t remember at the moment.

Why in the world did she have to be there? She slapped her calf, killing off another mosquito. Darkness enveloped the group around the campfire, which made it easy for her glance over to the side and chug on the wine bottle, the one she had strategically placed next to the tree trunk she sat on. Everyone was so involved in “sharing” that they didn’t notice her getting drunk in the back, alone. And that was perfectly fine by her.

If only they would stop the incessant chatter already and send her off to bed, giving her some peace. But if she went to bed in her very lonely cabin, she wouldn’t be able to watch Max.

She glanced off to the side, as if admiring the scenery, and took another gulp of wine, the fruity flavor no longer bursting on her tongue but mixing with the lingering sweetness from her previous swig.

“Sabrina?” Eve’s sharp tone made her jerk to face the rest of the group. Normally she wouldn’t mind being called by her real name, though everyone outside of work knew her as Nina, but the way Eve said it, with so much severity, it made her want to wince.

“Hmm?”

The outdoors and nature did nothing to smooth out Eve’s harsh features. Nor did she look anywhere near friendly with the glare she directed toward Nina. Nina had to fight the urge to giggle every time Eve looked at her that way. Eve reminded her of Cruella de Vil.

“I asked if there was anything you’d like to add to the discussion?”

Nina’s gaze slid past Eve to lock on Max. His lips quirked, almost like he knew exactly what she’d been doing. Too bad he was so far away and there were all those people there, or she’d finally do something about the attraction that didn’t let her sleep. She was ready to finally give in to temptation and have her way with him. Screw the fact that they worked together. Or better said, she worked for him.

“No, Eve. I think what you have shared covers all the important points we’re here to discuss.” Lie. She had no clue what Eve had been saying.

Eve’s frown smoothed, and she lifted her chin. “Thank you, Sabrina.” She turned back to the others, effectively dismissing her. “As I was saying…”

Nina shut Eve’s low, droning voice out of her mind again and peeked down a passageway between the trees. There was enough light from the campsite, she could just make out her way down the path. Curiosity got a hold of her. She stood on wobbly legs and blinked. The group spun out of focus for a second.

“Sabrina?”

Nina took a few steps toward the dimly lit passage in the woods before she turned to Max’s enquiring voice. “I’m just going to the ladies room for a moment.” She pointed in the direction of the trees.

“Wait! That’s not…”

She ignored Max’s call to her and strolled off, breaking twigs and dead leaves with each step. Mosquitoes nibbled on her legs, each bite a constant reminder that she wished she was home in her bed, relaxing, or at least with someone that would help her fight the arousal shooting through her whenever she glanced at Max. But she’d broken up with her last boyfriend a while back. Since he didn’t get the message that she was no longer interested, she had stopped going to the places she might encounter him.

With each step she took, the sound of the river beckoned her in its direction. Her foot caught, and she tripped on a branch. She squealed as the earth tilted in front of her. Rocky ground rushed up to meet her face.

A strong pair of hands grabbed her by the waist and hauled her backward. “I got you.” Max’s deep voice caressed her ear while he helped her straighten.

Swooshing from water streaming nearby and crickets, somewhere in the vicinity, were the only sounds to be heard. Each noise drove home the fact she was outdoors and anyone could come by, not that she cared.

He shifted her in his arms until she faced him, her front leaning heavily into his muscled body. She sighed, glancing up into his shadowed face. Not that she needed light to know what his delectable square jaw looked like. Or how brilliant his blue eyes were. He leaned back into a thick tree trunk, pulling her with him.

Slow caresses trailed down her back, making her shiver and her blood thicken in her veins. With each intimate touch, her body throbbed. It was time to stop torturing herself. She couldn’t fight her body any longer.

“I think you’ve had a few too many, beautiful. Let’s get you back to your cabin.”

“No.” She lifted on the tips of her trainers, curled her hands around his neck, and pulled his head down to her. “Now stop torturing me, and kiss me, damn it.”

He groaned softly. “Sabrina, you’ve definitely had too much to drink. Sneaking in wine was not part of the agenda, you know.” He stroked down her spine to the curve of her ass and palmed her cheeks.

She huddled closer, cradling his erection in the juncture of her thighs. “I know it wasn’t, but Eve is boring. And it’s not that I’ve had too much too much to drink. I’ve just had enough, Max. I’m tired of fighting this. I want you.”

“Baby, you hate my guts.” He chuckled, lowered, and dropped a kiss on her nose.

Arousal gathered inside her, heating her blood by more degrees than she cared to admit. “No. I don’t hate you. I just don’t like that I want you so much.” She kissed his jaw, loving the sound of his sharp inhale when she licked his neck.

“Sabrina…”

Breaths mingled, gazes connected, and wet heat dripped from her sex. It was pure torture to have his sexy mouth so close and not get a taste. “Just kiss me, Max. I need you.”

Peaks of tension zigzagged inside her and made her shudder. He held her neck with one hand, tilted her head back, and swooped down for a kiss. Potent need, unlike any she’d ever felt before, possessed her. She whimpered into the sensual kiss. Each swipe of his tongue over hers added kindling to the explosions going off inside her. She raked her nails down his T-shirt, over his hard-muscled chest, and to his jeans. “Fuck me.”

He drew back from their kiss, ending the twining of their tongues. A scowl, deeply etched on his face, showed his disbelief at her words. But this time she wasn’t going with logic. She decided to give in to what her body desired. And it desired Max.

“Sabr—” One soft moan left his lips when she gripped his cock over his jeans.

“Max, this isn’t a game. I want to see you.” She panted, unbuckling his belt. “I want to touch you.” Excitement rushed through her, urging her to unzip his jeans. “I want to taste you…”

Blog Tour: Clutch by Tess Oliver

Clutch by Tess Oliver
Released: 5th November 2013

Synopsis:

When Taylor Flinn’s parents shipped her off to an aunt for her last year of high school, James “Clutch” Mason had convinced himself it was for the best. Taylor, the wild, impulsive and far-too-appealing seventeen-year-old had been driving him nuts. Her school girl crush on him had been the last thing he needed. Now he had time to concentrate on his booming classic car part business, his new found love-- drag racing, and keeping his twenty-year-old brother Barrett out of trouble.
But when Taylor returns from her aunt’s more grown up, utterly seductive, and attached to another guy, Clutch realizes that the only thing he ever needed or wanted was Taylor Flinn.

Teaser:

She came around the corner, unexpectedly and like a hurricane of stars. My mind went completely blank. I hung up and stuck the phone in my pocket.
Taylor’s long lashes curtained her smooth cheeks as she dropped her gaze.

The adrenaline rush left behind from getting my hands on a sixty-five Shelby morphed into an explosion of every emotion I’d ever felt. I lunged forward and grabbed her hand. She gasped as I dragged her around the back of the building. I pressed her up against the bricks and stared down at her.
