Title: Play (Stage Dive, #2)
Author: Kylie Scott
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Release Date: March 25, 2014
Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller LICK.
Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl.
Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?
This is my 5 snowflake review for Play (Stage Dive #2) by
Kylie Scott for Eskimo Princess Book Blog.
Oh My Gosh, I don’t think I have laughed so many times while
reading a book. This book was such a wonderful, funny, and romantic read, I
loved it. Anne Rollins has found her fair share of bad luck. She has a crappy
roommate that moves out in the middle of the day while she is at work leaving
her with a mountain of bills to pay and rent to make. Her crush gives her a breakdown
of every sexual encounter he has with other women, and she has no idea where
she is going to get the money to pull herself out of the mess she has found
herself in. When she goes to a party with her neighbor Lauren and her boyfriend
Nate she finds herself at the home of David and Ev Ferris, David is the Lead
guitarist for the famous rock band Stage Dive. She has been in love with the
band for years, but one in particular really gets her motor running.
Mal Ericson, the sexy as sin drummer has always been her
favorite. When Anne runs into Mal at the party things get pretty interesting.
He bombards her with 20 questions about herself and she can’t seem to contain
her nerves much less answer with logical answers. What will happen when Mal
gets under Anne’s skin? Will Mal get more than he bargains for when he decides
Anne can help him out of the dilemma he has to get out of?
I thought that this rocker romance was pretty much perfect.
The dialogue was fantastically funny, yet the romance was sweet and innocent.
Kylie really has a way with words. She had me laughing so much my sides hurt.
My husband said that he hadn’t seen me laugh and smile so much reading a book,
and trust me I read A LOT!! It was overall refreshing and I look forward to
reading more from this author in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a great
romantic comedy. This one is about a fun loving rocker dead set on making his
momma and his heart happy. I can’t wait for Jimmy and Lena’s story coming later
in 2014!
