The journey continues:

"It means that you belong to me," he whispered back against my lips.

Suddenly, I was scared that Kane would only want to own me as a piece of property, as Lord Donovan once had gushed over me.

I tried to push him away from me, but Kane tightened his grip, refusing to let me go before he continued to speak, "But it also means that you own me, Kira."

At those unbelievable words, I stopped struggling immediately. Own him? No one could ever own Kane; the thought was preposterous. The look on my face must have conveyed that very thought because he laughed at the sight.

"You really have no idea of the power you hold over me, or how much I care for and desire you, do you?"

Shaking my head, I repeated my earlier plea to him, "Tell me."

That wicked grin of his returned as he pulled me flush against his body and dipped his face towards mine again. "I'd rather show you."
