Letters Home by Rebecca Brooke: Blog Tour & Giveaway

Synopsis
Life is all about the jigsaw, right? Finding the different puzzle pieces to complete your very own picture. A career you love, a house to make a home, a lover to complete you, and keep you warm at night.

Danielle Renton has a life, and she loves it. A recent law school graduate, she’d been floored when her boyfriend, Nate Lewis, enlisted during their sophomore year of college. At the time, she’d been concerned with what that meant for them as a couple, but in the years that followed, they’d learned to adapt to the logistics of an army relationship.

But when life throws her a curveball, how will she cope? Can she pick up the pieces and make her picture beautiful again? Or does she realize that, sometimes, the pieces can be too broken to fit back together…

My heart beats for you and you alone. I know there will be hard times, times when you’re away and I wonder how I’m going to do it, but I promise to always let my love for you help me through those times—knowing that while I’m here missing you, you’re somewhere missing me.

The kiss seemed to last forever, but it came to a point where I had to end it for fear of never wanting to leave. The tears in her eyes as I stood up to walk to the door broke something inside of me, something that wouldn’t be fixed until she was back in my arms again.

His tongue parted my lips and slid into the warmth of my mouth.

Testing.

Tasting.

Teasing.

My feet shuffled backwards until the back of my legs hit the bed but Nate didn’t stop moving. It wasn’t until he’d pushed me down onto the bed and covered his body with mine, did he lift his lips.

[Life for Danielle Renton is perfect. She has just graduated grad school and life with her boyfriend Nate Lewis is like a fairy tale. When Nate enlists in the military she worries about how that will affect them but all continues to go well for them and they adjust to the changes the army brings. When Nate finally proposes to Danielle she is thrilled, they plan their wedding for 6 months away but before the wedding day approaches, Nate gets his orders that he is being shipped back out. Not wanting to hold off any longer, they decide to marry before he goes back out. Saying goodbye to Nate is the hardest thing she has ever had to do but its just for 3 months so they isn't to bad.....or is it? A month after Nate leaves she receives guests at her door that no military wife ever wants to see. She is broken, she is crushed, life for her is over.....When Tanner walks into her life, things for Danielle will begin to change. Will her heart ever heal over losing Nate? Can she ever love again without feeling guilty for trying to move on without him?

OMG I was so torn, I loved Nate!! He was the absolute sweetest guy ever!! Reading the synopsis I knew where things was headed but that didn't really prepare me for the heartbreak even I would feel. My heart broke for Danielle and all other military wives that have had to go thru losing their husband trying to protect our country. I didn't think anybody would ever top my love for Nate but boyyyyy, Tanner was just as wonderful!!! He instantly had a connection with Danielle and just wanted to protect her. My heart broke for him at times but I understand why things were going the way they were. I did not want this book to end but to me, the ending was perfect!!!

I loved Liam, Marissa, Colin and Greg!! They were such great secondary characters and I am hoping that maybe they will also get a book of their own (hint, hint, lol)

Rebecca Brooke...you my friend are AWESOME!!! This was my first read from you but it def will not be my last!!! <3

This is my 5 star review for Letters Home by Rebecca Brooke for Eskimo Princess Book Reviews!

Letters Home is a military romance about Danielle Renton and her life loving an American Soldier. Danielle is young, beautiful, and determined. She has been in love with her high school sweetheart, Nate, since she was 17. Nate is a wonderful man. He knows Danielle better than she knows herself. Will he be able to take care of Danielle like he always has? When tragedy strikes will Danielle be able to pick up the pieces and move on with her future?

I really loved this book. It was very well written. I would recommend having a box of tissues on hand when you read this one! This book is highly emotional and is worth every laugh, smile, and tear I shed. While reading Danielle, Nate, and Tanner’s story I couldn’t help but feel for each and every character in the story. Marissa, Liam, Colin, and Greg bring so much to the story. They are really great secondary characters that I really, really hope that the author will consider writing a story for each of them as well (hint, hint)!!

Once I started reading Letters Home I didn’t want to stop. I read way into the night. The writing was beautiful and so heartfelt; those letters home sure do know how to rip your heart to shreds. I can’t imagine what Danielle went through but she was a strong woman and things turned out so well for her. I wish there would have been an epilogue though; I really would like to see where the future stands for her and her love!
If you enjoy military romance novels and you aren’t scared of a big ugly cry then I highly recommend this book to you. Heck I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance with not only one, but TWO awesome heroes’. Nate and Tanner really are swoon worthy! Thanks Rebecca for sharing Danielle’s journey with us.
