The Diva and the Duke
Jackson D'Lynne
Synopsis
When a 21st century diva...
Haven Edwards is a sensual, intelligent, 21st century diva with an "exotic" career. Wanting nothing more than to move past her ugly divorce, she attends an adults only Carnal-val where she’s compelled to steal a strangely glowing pocket watch. Overcome with its power, she winds it. A portal opens beneath her feet, hurtling her back through time to 1817 where she crashes into the life of the very proper, very sexy, Logan Dunham. A duke with a deep distrust of beautiful women, Logan can’t understand his staggering desire for the woman with the quick wit, and jade green eyes—the woman who haunted his dreams long before they met.
...meets a 19th century duke...
Haven is determined to find a way home, but she can’t shake her hunger for the dark, brooding duke. He's a duke, he's out of her league, right? So why does her heart beat a little faster whenever he is near? Why does her mind conjure images of happily ever after?
One touch, and they are consumed by their desire. But before they can untangle their feelings for one another, a sociopath with a god complex and a knife fetish sets his evil intents on Haven. In order to save her life, Logan must destroy the demons of his past, and learn to trust a power he doesn't understand. What happens when he arrives too late? Will the time-swept diva be lost forever, or will the diva get her duke?
...the sparks fly, tempers and passions flare, and two souls touch across time.
The Diva and the Duke is a time-travel, paranormal, Regency suspense filled to the brim with spicy wit, fiery romance, hot sex, humor, and a villain you have to read to believe.

Let me just say that this author knows how to spin a tale!! I loved every moment of this book, from the first sentence to the last! It has paranormal, time travel, love and mystery...you just didn't know which turn led you where :) Ms. D'Lynne molded a great heroine from modern day (who I liked from the get go, she was a Jensen Ackles fan :)) and led her back in time to a mouth watering hero. There was just enough sparks to keep you rooting for both of them. Enough mystery in the book to keep your peepers open for who the bad guys were and the paranormal ghost/time travel spin to wonder how she would get home, if she chose to. There should be three books in this series and I can't wait to read the other two. BRAVO!! I loved it!! Just a side note to those that read books and then pick apart on 'believability' ....this is not a book for you, if you aren't open minded enough to read 'fiction' then you can continue on your way. IF however you love a good 'tale' continue on and buy this book!!! Nothing but love from this reviewer!!
Jackson has been writing fiction since she discovered her natural ability to spin a tale. Throughout her life, she’s written many poems, short stories (these have been published into a collection through Tate Publishing), and a LOT of online content (for her copywriting business). Since 2004, Jackson has focused on writing as her passion, and has since completed her first full-length novel due for release in July 2014.
Not only is she a romance and YA thriller writer, she is also an active member of the New Jersey Romance Writers chapter of the RWA, the editor of the NJRW Heartline Herald, and the current co-chair for this year’s Put Your Heart in a Book Conference.
Definitely sounds like a book I want to get my hands on. I love paranormal romance, strong characters, and complex villains. The fact that it's also a time travel book makes it pretty much irresistible. :)
