Author Spotlight: Aneesa Price

Today we are spotlighting the fabulous Aneesa Price.
Aneesa Price has several books out, and they are all great books.

About the Author

You have to dream, think big and believe. Then, while you're at that - work harder than you ever have before!

Aneesa Price writes romance and lives it with her university sweetheart and husband. After having surmounted the challenges of being in a bi-racial marriage in the newly democratic South Africa, she now attributes her marital bliss to purposefully added spice and passionately resolved differences. After living in a variety of cities in South Africa, the cosmopolitan city of Johannesburg is the playground that she enjoys with her husband and two daughters.

Aneesa completed her internship in counselling psychology and went on to work first as a therapist and then in Corporate Finance in on projects and in organizational change. This diversity in experience, coupled with her understanding of the human psyche, is translated into her writing through the creation of believable, flawed characters with the innate ability to overcome adversity.

She writes to give her readers the gift of experiencing the new and fascinating, something she strives for herself when she explores new places, reads, cooks with her kids or goes picking for antiques with her husband.
She welcomes new connections so feel free to 'friend' her on facebook or follow her on twitter.

Interview with Miss Suzette

*Miss Suzette sits down opposite the Eskimo Princess. The large, oak table in the plantation kitchen dwarfs both of them physically but neither of their personalities or hearts. Miss Suzette also figured that if the Eskimo Princess wanted to know about the Coffin Girls then there would be no better place to tell her than around the table that had shared in so much laughter and moments of family.*
What is your favorite recipe to fix for your girls?
If it’s food you’d be talkin’ about, the crawfish gumbo would be it. Seafood and spice. It’s been passed down to me by my maman and my grandmére before her. Can’t go wrong with it. We use it for weddings or for the family. Now, don’t be tellin’ the girls about this but I do like to make the chocolate chilli fillet that my Marie came up with. The girls suspect it and they’d be right to but, I don’t want Marie to be gettin’ a big head and start messing with all her fushion food nonsense in my kitchen.
But, my favorite recipe of all is the ailment cure I make. I get to dabble in a bit of kitchen magick, make my girls (or their boys) feel better and it tastes so terrible that they sometimes learn a lesson when I use it as a hangover cure.  *Miss Suzette’s ample girth shakes with suppressed laughter. The Eskimo Princess notices it and grins, which is enough of a trigger to let the laughter flood the room.*

What do you love about each girl? We want your thoughts on the Coffin Girls.
Won’t trick me into answering that trap of a question. If I had to say that I loved Anais’ heart and how she loves and leads her girls, how Sophie is a gentle soul with the spine of a warrior, how Marie is one of the sweetest girls I’ve known despite her bark, how V’s intelligence is uncanny and that she cares so deeply, and how Rose is more spectacular in mind and spirit than any of those blood-alcohol drinks she makes… If I had to say it, there’d be vampire sister ragging going on in the house for weeks. So, I won’t say it. *Miss Suzette winks*

What do you like to do, besides being there for the girls and taking care of them.
I have Raulf and his pack to take care of too. I know big, handsome men like them pretend that they don’t like no fussin’ over but they love it in secret. Me and my sister have our hands full with them sometimes, especially with the way they go around spilling hearts all over New Orleans like beer at Mardi Gras.
And I’ve got my kitchen magick too. *The Crucifix and Voodoo beads sway in sync to the woman’s beliefs as she speaks.* I get to use what was passed down to me to help others. There’s no better way to spend my time than doing that.

How do you feel about what the girls are doing? You know, outside the event planning…
They’re doing what needs doing. I don’t like that they’re in danger but I’ll keep on warding them against bad and get down on my knees to ask that they’d be kept safe. It hurts my heart to think of what they fight against but that’s part of being a mamma.
They’ve gotten strong and their magick is more powerful than anything I’ve seen. *Miss Suzette puffs up with pride.*  So, the Goddess is on their side. That helps my heart a bit too.

Thank you Miss Suzette, for stopping by for a quick chat. We love you, mamma Suzette.

This is what Miss Price said inspired her for the Coffin Girls Plantation.  Beautiful!

Thank you for stopping by and learning more about Aneesa Price and her books.  I hope you found some new reads today.  I know I am not-so-patiently waiting for more from this fabulous author.
