Adored for her charmingly sensual New York Times bestsellers, Sabrina Jeffries brings back a splendid historical romance, long out-of-print, that she penned as Deborah Martin. Readers will thrill to this unforgettable tale of passion and peril—now newly revised by the author!

Miss Marianne Winchilsea is running for her life from those whom she believes have attempted to kill the king. Forced to disguise herself, she trusts no one—especially not Garett Lockwood, the Earl of Falkham, who usurped her family home and who seems to be her most dangerous enemy.

And what Garett sees behind her masquerade is a beautiful half gypsy enrobed in mystery, deception, and burning secrets. A woman he should avoid at all costs.

In a world where treachery and betrayal reign, a sweet seduction rules their hearts—and dares them to risk their destinies on a passionate love that all the powerful forces of the world cannot defeat.

I truly enjoyed this book.
Mina is looking for answers, yet is a mystery herself. She doesn't trust nobility, and Garett trusts no one.
Garett is out for revenge and that is his purpose in life.
Mina is a great character in this book. She make Garett think, she also distracts him. He wants to protect her. Her aunt, Tamara is spicy and protective. I loved her, and her character.
I do love how the story was played out, with so many secrets and the thirst for revenge. Mina and Garett try to fight their attraction, well Mina tries to fight against him. She wants him but she wants his love not just affection. The ending was great but I think it would've been better if Garett's uncle received a different punishment. I would like to know more about what happens with his aunt after as well.

Julie Valentine’s soul searching turned out to be a bad case of the author blues. Having just broken up with her boyfriend, she goes to a casino in the hopes of relaxing and getting her mind straight, while rekindling her passion for books, but not even a nice glass of wine seems to work. Writing steamy romances requires more than just leisure time.
When she meets the billionaire Dominic Fury, a handsome blue-eyed kind ladies’ man, his charms win her over. Maybe spending a night with him will give her plenty of inspiration. It turns out Dominic has a seductive request for her, one she cannot refuse

This was a decent short story. But I felt like the author was trying to hard. At the beginning, the author was trying to hard to have a storyline, then it turned to trying to hard to get the two characters to really be into each other.
I read this in no time at all, and the sex scene was ok I guess for BDSM. then the book just ends after they have sex.
