Giveaway Time!!

As promised,  a new giveaway.  But this time its more than swag!  I got my hands on Jennifer Probst's The Marriage Bargain!
Book Description:
A marriage in name only...

To save her family home, impulsive bookstore owner, Alexa Maria McKenzie, casts a love spell. But she never planned on conjuring up her best friend's older brother—the powerful man who once shattered her heart.

Billionaire Nicholas Ryan doesn’t believe in marriage, but in order to inherit his father’s corporation, he needs a wife and needs one fast. When he discovers his sister’s childhood friend is in dire financial straits, he offers Alexa a bold proposition.

A marriage in name only with certain rules: avoid entanglement. Keep things all business. Do not fall in love. The arrangement is only for a year so the rules shouldn’t be that hard to follow, right?

Except fate has a way of upsetting the best-laid plans…

Now, I will be honest, I have not yet read this.  But it looks/sounds like a good read.  My copy is still in the mail, I wanted to offer up my first copy to my readers.  I'm sorry but this giveaway is for US only.

Review: Among the Shadows by Amanda DeWees

Just hours after Joy and Tanner’s daughter is born, Tanner finds himself in a world where Joy doesn’t know him and their baby doesn’t exist. But when he thinks he has found the source of the magic that has undone reality, a heartsore Maddie makes a wish that alters history even further. With time now growing short for Tanner, he must try to win Joy’s trust and convince her that they have a future together—even though their past has vanished.
As the fabric of reality begins to fray, an old enemy arises amid the chaos... and Joy and her Ash Grove friends find themselves fighting to save the world as they know it. This thrilling sequel to The Shadow and the Rose and Casting Shadows will keep readers guessing as it races toward its astonishing conclusion.

My Review

The final story in this series was amazing as the first two. I do believe you need to read them in order or you will be lost. I was drawn into the story from the beginning.
I love that Tanner never gave up, and Joy didn't either when she knew what was going on.

I think the author did very well writing about the time disruptions well.   I actually enjoyed the alternate lives that were spun, and I enjoyed the reactions the main characters had to each alternative.  The ending was wonderful, and wonderfully written.  I thought it was awesome how they all chose to remember everything that had happened plus the newly rewritten past.
Lots of drama, horror and paranormal, not to mention the LOVE that poured through this book. I personally did not find alot of humor that the other reviews are mentioning, yes there were a few moments but not that much.

I highly recommend this Series to all paranormal lovers.

I was given this entire series for review by the author, and I greatly appreciate it.  I truly look forward to more work from Amanda DeWees!

Other Blog Notes

For the time being, I am going back to reading my older paperbacks.  I have tons of books on both my Kindle and my actual bookshelf, so I would like to clear off the shelf a little.  Plus, if I clear off the shelf now-I can go to another book sale!
I will still be accepting books for review, just not reading as many new releases or newer books for just a little while.  I hope you will enjoy seeing reviews of older books that may have been forgotten about.

Review: Finding Never by C.M. Stunich

C.M. Stunich

Never Ross and Ty McCabe have come a long way – but they can't stop now. Their pasts are still there, ready to sweep over and consume them if they don't confront them. A visit to Never's family seems like the first logical step, but will it make things better or worse? And what about Noah Scott? Ty is Never's tortured other half, but can he also be the healing balm that she so desperately needs? With McCabe's past still a virtual unknown, Never is going to have to make more than one decision capable of breaking both their hearts.

"Ty has changed; I have changed, and things are not always what they seem.

My Review:

I was very happy to get this book,  I wanted to find out more about this couple.  I was not disappointed at all. (except the cliff hanger at the end!!)  If you read and loved book one, you have to read book two and of course we have to read book 3 to find out how it all ends.
Never (and Ty) went home, to clear the air with her family and make amends.  She does this to heal herself, and she learns so much about how they all felt when she left.  She bonds and learns what has happened in the 5 years she's been gone, and they learn about her.  Ty has let slip tiny pieces of his past.

This was better than the first book, in my opinion.  I loved reading the new developments. And lots of surprises thrown in.  Excellent read!

Book Description:

Seven years ago sexy Bree fled Devil's Peak, Alaska, disillusioned with her high school romance and with a baby in her belly. Now, she's back and seeing devilishly handsome Todd again challenges her carefully constructed plans for amicable co-parenting.
Todd's delight at Bree's return swiftly turns to disgust when he discovers her secret and he vows to keep her at arm's length. Upon discovering the context behind her secreting their child, he decides to give their daughter the love and stable family home he never knew. Despite her attraction to Todd, Bree has no interest in rekindling their relationship and is focused on settling into the town.
But the town and its match-making busy-bodies are not willing to allow the lovers to remain apart and test their resolve in a series of planned misadventures.
Bree is home for good but will she be home for love?

My Review

This book was so captivating.  I couldn't put it down, I don't normally read contemporary romance but this book was awesome.
Bree has made a huge life changing decision, and that was to move back home to Alaska to live with her grandparents and to tell her High-School Sweetheart of their child.   You have to read this book, to see how the story plays out! I refuse to give any hints except that you will love it.  I connected with the characters because this book felt so real.

Sorry I've been absent.

As you know, I have been very absent lately well there have been lots of reasons and I will explain and hopefully I will be back to blogging more now.  First back in Febuary, my dear grandmother passed away, no more suffering from Parkinson's for her.  She has joined my loving grandfather in heaven after 8 years apart.  We buried her on Valentine's day.
Next, I have been babysitting an 18 month old little boy for a family friend for the past two months.  So now with 2 toddlers running around all day long, blogging has been pushed back!  These two munchkins sure keep me busy.
And of course, finally, the new house!
We closed on the house at the beginning of March, but we had some TLC to do before we moved in.  So spare time was spent working on the new house.  But now we are finally moved in, we have enjoyed our new home for exactly ONE week now!!!  And we are unpacked and loving it (except we still need to hang pictures and do little decorating details).  We were without internet our first weekend here, but that was just fine as we had so much to do.  Now my older kids are on Spring Break, and that is ending as well.
Hopefully Tuesday we will all be back on regular schedule here!  I can go back to reading and reviewing and sharing all my wonderful books with fellow readers.  But I can't promise anything!  The weather is warming up, and late spring  and summer is my favorite time of year!! I love the warmth and now that we have a great backyard we will be enjoying the outdoors.
