Ben by Anne L. Parks Tour & Giveaway

Title: Ben (The 13, Book 4)
Author: Anne L. Parks
Genre: Military Romance/ Thriller/ Suspense
Release Date: October 16, 2018
Cover Designer: Buoni Amici Press

They say you can’t escape your past. Especially when it takes you hostage. When Mia Rowland is taken hostage, nothing will stand in Ben Wells’ way. Not his career as a Navy SEAL. Not even his life.
Mia Rowland wants nothing more than to start her life with the man she loves. But when terrorists kidnap her as she testifies against a US Senator, her dreams of “happily ever after” are, once again, jeopardized.
Ben Wells is anxious to propose to the woman who has stolen his heart. However, his hopes for a lifetime of love and happiness with Mia are put on hold as he embarks on a desperate mission to rescue her—from an enemy he never saw coming.
Ben and Mia are on a perilous race to reclaim their future—before catastrophe separates them forever.

Ben sat on the end of the aisle and watched one of his new best friends get married. He was happy for Mason, but he also couldn’t seem to swallow the bit of jealousy lodged in his throat. This should be Mia and him standing at the alter, vowing to share their lives forever.
Mia…God, how he missed that woman. The closer it got to her wrapping up her testimony against Senator William Hutton, and finally being released from protective custody, the more Ben grew antsy.
She was probably in court now. Was she nervous? He had wanted to be there, to support her. But she loved Mason and had insisted that one of them be at his wedding. Since she had other obligations she couldn’t get out of…she made him promise he would represent both of them.
Ever since she had discovered that Hutton’s charitable foundation had been a front for money laundering to fund the RRA, Ben, Mason, and Lance had been there to protect her. Mason and Lance had been the ones to care for her while Ben was recovering from a gunshot wound he received rescuing Mia from being beaten to death in an RRA compound in Colombia.
Mason barely waited for the officiant to announce he could kiss the bride before wrapping Jess up in a tight embrace and kissing her deeply. The room filled with hoots and howls of support, and a few playful admonitions of “get a room.”
Ben’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, hoping it was a phone call from Mia. Instead the Newport office number lit up the screen.
“Wells,” he said as he answered the call.
“Humps,” Ryan Flaherty greeted him using Ben’s call sign. Flaherty was Riley’s computer specialist and one of two assistants she had.
But what the hell was he calling Ben for? Was he trying to get Lance or Riley?
“I thought you’d want to know as soon as possible—there was an active shooter at the federal courthouse in DC.”
Ben’s scalp prickled. He stood and walked to the back of the room, his emotions heightened. Mia’s fine…there’s nothing wrong.
Ben closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Where?”
“Inside the courtroom where Hutton’s trial is being heard.”
The one where Mia was supposed to be testifying at that moment. A chill moved down his spine and intensified the quiver in his gut.
“There were apparently at least four men with guns. No one knows for sure how they got in with weapons, but all indications are that it was an inside job.”
Cold fear washed over Ben. “Mia?”
“I can’t get confirmation on her whereabouts, but everyone has been cleared from the courthouse and the wounded taken to the hospital. I’ve checked her name against the people admitted for treatment. Ben…it’s not looking good.”
Ben cleared his throat, the fireball of fear dropped into his gut. “Maybe she’s still inside the courtroom.”
Flaherty exhaled. “The only ones left in the building are all dead.”

Subzero by Cambria Hebert Blitz & Giveaway

Subzero
Cambria Hebert
(BearPaw Resort #4 )
Publication date: October 19th 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense, Thriller

My best friend, Liam Mattison, was born with snow in his veins.
Me? Ice.
Maybe that’s why my eyes are this color. Maybe it’s because I was born in Caribou, where there’s more snow than sun.
I always knew I had a chill within me, but after my time with the army, that chill froze over. I saw and did things most people couldn’t fathom. I made contacts with people who were more beast than man.
I came home altered, and there was no going back.
Except I did. It had to be done, and I didn’t regret it.
But now I’m thrust back into a world where people had forgotten my name. Back into a past I walked away from.
Memories of all the things I’ve done, of the people I’ve left behind, are floating to the surface.
The late-night summons wasn’t really unexpected.
The request was.
Saying no is impossible when you’re the only man equipped for the job. Saying no is difficult when what you really want to say is yes.
So here I am, past and present colliding with a woman I intentionally left behind. A woman who needs me to keep her alive.
I made a promise, and I will keep it.
Even if I die doing it. Even if it means the ice inside me goes subzero.

EXCERPT:
The gun I held with both hands hit the dirt, and I hit my knees. “Kitten,” I rasped out, shoving Liam away and reaching for her. “Kitten, honey, where are you hit?”
I gripped her shoulders and pulled her into me, scanning her face, her neck, her shoulders, panicking, searching for a bullet wound, looking for blood.
Her eyes popped open. “Alex,” she whispered.
My stare sprang to hers. “Tell me, baby. Tell me where you’re hit.”
She sighed a little and snuggled close, then suddenly stiffened and wrenched away. I went to grab her back, still freaking the fuck out, but she yelled, “I’m not shot!”
I reached for her anyway. She grasped my hand and glared at me. “Alex! I’m not shot!”
I fell back onto my haunches, still gripping her hand so she had to move a little with me. “You aren’t?”
“No.” She held her arms out. “See?”
Anger filled my throat. “Then what the fuck were you groaning on the ground for?”
Good God! She took nearly twenty years off my life!
“Because this creep threw me on the ground and jumped on me!”
Daniel came out of nowhere, grabbing up Liam by the back of his neck and putting him a choke hold.
I lurched up and shook my head. “It’s Liam.”
Daniel dropped him immediately. “My bad.”
“You’re fucking lucky you didn’t put a bullet in him,” I swore.
“Sorry,” Daniel said, sheepish.
Liam straightened his shirt and glanced at me, lifting a brow. “Kitten? Honey? Baby?”
“Fuck you, Mattison.”
He turned to Sabrina. “You have a real name?”
She crossed her arms over her chest and sniffed. “You’re bigger on TV.”
Liam grinned. “Still took you to the ground.”
“You better watch yourself.” I warned him.
Liam took my threat mildly, squinting at me. “I take it you know this little criminal?”
Sabrina gasped.
I laughed.

Blizzard by Cambria Hebert Blitz & Giveaway

Blizzard
Cambria Hebert
(BearPaw Resort #2)
Publication date: June 15th 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense, Thriller
An arctic blast is coming…
Fleeing to the wintry town of Caribou was always meant to be temporary,
BearPaw Resort just a place to hide.
Never in a million years did I expect that running back to the past
would bring me face to face with my future.
But it did, and now everyone I love is in danger.
I’ve already escaped death three times, and I know my luck is running out.
I’m left looking over my shoulder, watching and waiting,
knowing they’re coming
But when?
Hiding is impossible when the mob wants you erased,
and I love Liam far too much to try to disappear.
The more time I spend with him, the more I realize how much he needs me.
A darkness lurks inside him, and the colder it gets, the more I see it in his eyes.
So here I am, more afraid than ever before.
Giving up isn’t an option. Giving in will get us killed.
A blizzard is brewing on our mountain,
more frigid than anything we’ve ever felt.
With everything we ever wanted at stake, the only option is to fight.
When life turns arctic…
Who will survive the blast?

EXCERPT:
“You might not know all the details of my career, all the places I’ve traveled, or even what I’ve been hoping for in the future. But what you do know is far more important than any of that.”
“And what is it I know?” she asked dubiously.
Lifting her hand, I pressed her palm against my chest. Her fingers were cool compared to my skin. Her hand was small compared to mine when I covered hers completely, pressing it flat over my heart. “You know places inside my heart no one else has ever encountered. You know how hard it is to breathe when we look into each other’s eyes. And I’m betting you feel a gentle tug right about here”—I poked my finger into the center of her chest—“when I walk into a room.”
Her eyes scoured mine. “You feel that, too?”
“Ah, sweetheart, I definitely feel it, too.”
Our foreheads met, and we both smiled.
Too soon, Bells pulled back, her brow knitting. “It doesn’t make sense that I could love you so very much and not know the details.”
“You think knowing my favorite color or the state of my teeth means you love me more?”
“Your favorite color is blue,” she said, mildly affronted.
“‘Cause that’s the color of your eyes.” I kissed the tip of her nose.
“I want the details, Liam. I want everything about you.”
“You already have the most important parts, Bells.”
A stubborn glint came into her eyes, and I chuckled. “If everything is what you want, then everything is what you’ll get.”

Excerpt:
“That car is still trailing us.” Glancing in the side mirror, I see that the car is behind us. Cass chooses that moment to take a curve extra fast, making the tires squeal, and I gasp. “You’re scaring me,” I murmur. It feels like my heart just flew into my throat. “Just wait. What I really want to do is going to scare you even more,” he says cryptically. “What do you want to do?” “You’ll have to trust me on this.” “Okay.” I clamp my lips shut. I shouldn’t automatically agree, right? I’m still having trust issues, even though I’d never say that out loud. This entire day has been confusing. I don’t know who to believe anymore. “No demanding we back out once we commit,” he says, his gaze never wavering from the road. “That’s a surefire way to get ourselves hurt.” His words are ominous. Like a warning. “Fine. I’m all in.” He eases up on the gas pedal, just the slightest bit. The car slows, the vehicle behind us drawing closer. So close I swear it looks like it’s going to eat the back bumper. “I don’t want you to freak out.” “Oh my God, Cass.” Why is he slowing down? “Just tell me.” “You have to promise me one thing first.” His gaze meets mine, lingering a moment too long. He should be watching the road, not staring at me. “Say you’ll promise.” “I promise,” I readily agree, frowning. “But what am I promising?” He’s staring straight ahead once more, his fingers sliding over the steering wheel, almost like a caress. “You can’t scream.” What? “I mean it. No screaming. No yelling. You must remain quiet. I need you to trust me, Pen.” He hesitates, his voice dropping lower. “Do you trust me?” Do I? He’s already asked me once and I said yes, but the doubt still creeps in. He scares me a little. He also—God, I am so ridiculous thinking this, but—he turns me on. He does. There’s something about him. He has this edge that other boys don’t have. And when he touches me, kisses me… I’d probably do just about anything he asks me to. So how can I doubt him when we’ve already gone this far together? “I won’t scream,” I tell him quietly. “And I won’t yell. I promise.” “Okay.” He nods once, then hisses out a breath between his teeth. I chance a glance at him, the way his dark hair falls over his forehead, how he’s squinting his eyes. What he’s about to do, what’s about to happen, feels…dangerous. “Here it goes.” With a flick of his wrist he turns the car’s headlights off. Like, completely off. The road goes dark. I suck in a breath, hold it until I feel like it’s choking me. He hits the gas pedal hard, the SUV roaring to life as he flies down the road. A dangerous, winding road where multiple car crashes occur every year. The windows are down, the wind blows through my hair, blasts against my face, and I close my eyes. I’m scared, and I can’t make a sound. Not a peep. I hold onto the handle right above the window, gripping it with both hands as Cass takes the twisty road with ease. My gaze is trained on the side mirror and I watch for the car lights behind us. They’re still there.
