Getting the Dirt on Mari Brown.

Today, I am getting the dirt on Mari Brown. Yes, I got her to sit down for an interview. This should be a good one!!!!

How does your family feel about the genre of books you write? Do any of them read your books?

No one seems terribly surprised I write smut. They like to pick on me for it but all in good fun. I have an uncle who introduces me as his niece that writes porn LOL. I know my mom has read a few of the books because she’s my formatter...and I have a cousin who has read them all as well.

How long have you been writing?

I’ve been writing as far back as I can remember but I didn’t get serious until 2012 after losing my grandpa I decided I needed to achieve my dream before it was too late I self published in Jan 2014 and haven’t looked back.

How long does it take, on average, to write a book?

If my creative juices are flowing a rough draft can be done in 2-4 weeks. However I take anywhere from 4-6 months to work on making it “pretty”. my editing process is not something I rush. I’d rather put out quality work over quantity.

Do you like to have a timeline, structure or do you just write as you go?

I just write as I go but I keep a composition book for each novel and keep notes on plot etc so I stay consistent from start to finish in a novel.

Do you put parts of your own personality into your characters?

Yes, I’m not sure if I could write without putting parts of my personality or even life in my stories.

What game/app on your phone, is your favorite?

Farmville 2 it’s my guilty pleasure.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

Ben & Jerry’s Double Fudge Brownie… but I love Ice cream of all kinds I live in the south it's always hot so ice cream is a must have staple.

If we were to rudely snatch your purse from you, what items would we find inside?

My wallet, pill container, a phone, change, brach’s peppermints, cigarettes, lighter, a pen and if my husband is with me his diabetic kit often ends up in there as well.

1- I’m an only child and very spoiled(he he)

2- I love Flip-Flops in case of extreme cold I have one pair of chucks

3- I’ve been a stay at home wife/mom since I was 19

4- I am a HUGE University of Alabama Football fan ROLL TIDE!!!!

5- I never wear makeup (except if I’m doing a professional photo shoot) but I always have my finger and toe nails painted if I leave the house.
